a blaster is useful only in very limited circumstances: when before something one deems necessary to die.

Make no mistake: the desert is the threat here. [ she speaks politely, almost pleasantly, but there's a directness to her words that speaks of purpose. ] A blaster won't save us from exposure. Not to mention there aren't nearly enough charges to adequately train our group and have enough left to defend ourselves if we do come another threat such as the bugs.

Enough of our group have experience with firearms so that training those with none, aside from a desire of their own to learn, should not be a current priority. Instead, it would be best to continue to a foster a sense of cooperation. More have been found who will need reassurance and support in the coming days as we did. A gun supplies neither.
