Who: Jessica Jones (
sobriquette) & bug catching partners (Zhukov, Shep, Taura, anyone else who wants in on this)
When: Day 4 and/or 5
Where: Near bonecamp
What: Catching trilobites
[They're strange things, the trilobites, and Jess knows she should probably be more than a little concerned about what it means, but mostly she's just curious. It's the first change since they arrived, or at least the first change that wasn't started by an explosion. It's also reassuring that there's enough water somewhere for them to survive, although she has a feeling they might need to do some digging before they get to it.
Either way, they're not going to know anything about the creatures until they get their hands on one, which is exactly what Jess is planning to do. She waits until the eclipse rolls around, before wandering away from "camp" to find a spot to wait, near a patch of torn up coral. It doesn't take long before a handful of the trilobites surface, heading towards the coral to pick at what's left of the fleshy insides, and Jess watches them in silence.
Though she isn't expecting any sentient company, so when she hears someone approaching she holds up a hand in a wait gesture.]
Do you mind? They startle easily.
[And she doesn't want them to run off before she has a chance to get her hands on one.]

Taura crouches down some few feet behind her, low in her knees but still a large hulking form, and accordingly drops her voice. Her baritone turns gravelly with depth as it goes quiet. ]
I was going to try to catch one. If you scare it toward me, I can grab it.
[ She's confident in her own reflexes, at least. ]

And her plan isn't a terrible one.]
Head left, I'll go right.
[She doesn't wait for a confirmation, trusting Taura to go along with it.]

Save him the legwork, so to speak, in his desperate need to find something living, filled with bones. Before desperation forces him to turn on his new found compatriots. ( His time is short, and his body is aching and the heat is desert nights whilst it is pleasant to be shielded from the bright of the day, the drop of temperature makes that fire all the more profound. )
At her prompting, a few feet behind her or so, he drops into a crouch. Voice low, deep, cracking. The shadows stretching deeper on hollow cheekbones as he murmurs back to her. ]
Of course.
[ Perched, and still, completely still, easy bleed into shadows where he's all ash skin and dry. ]

At least he can take a suggestion, though.]
Much appreciated.
[If he plans to respond, he'll have to wait, because Jess is moving into something like a runner's start, from which she leaps forward. The trilobites seemed to notice walking on sand, so she's trying to bypass that.
It still notices her when she lands a couple of feet away and starts to bury itself, but that final distance is closed easily. All she has to do is shove her hand down into the sand and pull the damn thing out, gripping it by it's shell.]
Gotcha.
[Her plan from here is vague, but she stands up and starts heading back towards Zhukov, holding the thing upside down as it's legs wriggle in the air. She'll figure out what she wants to do with it in a moment.]

You caught one yet?
[She keeps her voice low, in case the trilobites are sensitive to sound as well as movement.]

[Because all sharp, insect like things are hims. Whatever. She shifts her stance a bit, ready to slowly start walking around the bug if Jess agrees.]

[But she nods in agreement anyway, rocking back on her heels a little to get ready to pounce once the trilobite is closer.]
