[open!]
Who: Ves (
falsesmile) and general!
When: Day 6, afternoon
Where: The Ruined Hull
What: General exploration post!
[ The Ruined Hull has been unlocked! The go-team has been in the area for a while, the stay-team members who are so inclined have probably meandered over here somehow by now -- time to go exploring, but keep an eye on those suit power levels ♥ ]

[Because Shepard is fully expecting some face-hugger type nightmare in that ship. It's just how her life works. Still, her amused smile stays in place as she turns to head in. Apparently the woman had already developed a fan club.]
But I'll let you take point, Jess, if you want me to watch them.
no subject
[ and then to matters at hand: ]
I wouldn't mind Jess taking point♥ [ Especially if it means getting to walk behind her and looking at that silhouette. I mean--come on, Jess is hot. And Inui is an ass/leg man. There's no way he couldn't enjoy walking behind her. ]
no subject
[ Implying it isn't him.
(It's him.) ]
Can we get this show on the road? The sooner we get in, the faster we get back out.
no subject
[To Shepard:] You can lead. But just so you know, if it comes to a rescue, I'm leaving him behind.
["Him" is complimented by Jess's thumb jerking towards Inui, so that Shepard knows who she's talking about.]
no subject
[That there's still some amusement there means Shepard isn't sure about that, Jess had seemed moral enough in the fight against the queen. Time would tell.
But now? It's time to dive into the abyss.]
Keep your eyes open for anything useful. We're going to try and cover areas the others haven't yet.
no subject
Sure he's disappointed that Jess isn't taking point (because dat ass), but that doesn't cause his enthusiasm for this little venture in the least. I mean, come on? Actual alien spaceship? Inui's in heaven. This is just the sort of cool thing people in comics do. And now he gets to do it too.
As Shepard steps forward to lead Inui will fall into place behind Lance (because his butt is great too), looking back over his shoulder at Jess. ]
So...you come here often? Hahaha! [ He's hilarious, he knows. ]
no subject
[ Unlike Inui, Lance has the dubious honour of actually having been in an alien spaceship before, and is thereby more intimately aware of how much it can suck. ]
Dude, knock it off. [ You ever heard about how people are less tolerant when they see their own flaws mirrored in others? This is that. ]
no subject
Which is why she completely ignores Inui's comment, responding to Lance instead.]
No one else has run into trouble yet, seems like anything that was in there is dead.
no subject
[ She says with the confidence of a woman that has only died twice. But they keep bringing her back, so that has to mean something? Whatever the case, she's pressing forward with spear in hand. ]
But this whole ship is point towards us being in those pods for a while.
no subject
The pods were rusted which mans there had to be enough time for that, this whole ship looks like it's not any better... Especially if that giant monster you guys killed really came from down here. If it crashed recently we would have heard it and it probably would have pissed it off more. Or squished it.
no subject
[ Plus, the Galra are kinda bigger on, uh, 'supervision' than this. This isn't their style. ]
Do you think the big bug was what put those giant marks on the bones we saw out there?
no subject
[The queen has legs and pincers, but neither of those would have left the same marks that were on the pods and the bones.]
no subject
[Ah, the sweet, fresh scent of...pungent plant life. Color Shepard surprised. Touched the damp walls with a slightly disbelieving scoff.]
Some of the systems must still be online...
no subject
[ He enunciates it, but Shepard's next comment makes him blink so that he doesn't actually offer up a definition. Instead, his brows knit together. ]
What good does that do us without any power?
[ The lights keep going on and off...the hairs on the back of his neck have risen. ]
no subject
So rather than head forward out of curiosity, she sticks to the back of the group, watching for anything that might try to sneak out of the shadows behind them.]
There's the pearls.
[She knows there's not enough power in them to like, bring the entire ship back to spaceearing, but they might be able to get a communications system on line or something.]
no subject
[Shoving pearls in the engine core? Shepard knew just little enough about engineering to make that sound like a workable idea.]
Keep an eye out for any signs of the people that ran this thing.
no subject
They're supposed to top you up to full which is pretty sweet, 'cause I'm already down like 5%. [ ...From nearly one hundred, but still. He doesn't have powers or abilities to drain the suit, so that helps. ] Think we'll actually run into any aliens in here?
no subject
[ He's also down very little, but in comparison to the zero power drain he was experiencing before, it still feels like too much, especially when he's seen firsthand—twice now—what 0% power looks like. He's not keen on wiping out in front of any of these people, especially not Inui. He's never gonna live down the drool... ]
I feel like if we were gonna run into any trouble, this'd be the place. It's like a maze, in here.
[ He's antsy without his rifle. Not unlike Shepard, he's also expecting trouble, though not of the facehugging kind. (Possibly of the 'alien zombies' kind, because that's really not out of left field for him.) His last mission before coming here involved boarding an enemy vessel, so. ]
no subject
But she does have a knife made out of pod shrapnel, from Bel, and she uses it to etch an arrow into the side of the hull.]
I've got it covered, we're not getting lost in here.
[Better than leaving a trail of breadcrumbs.]
no subject
Jess called navigator, I'm not complaining.
[It's a random pick, but Shepard takes a left, heading down a hallway that doesn't look like it's been disturbed yet.]
But if we can find some star maps, that'll narrow down the galaxy quadrant.
no subject
He keeps pace just fine but he really doesn't have any special skills here as he idly looks up and watches the thick cables attached to the ceiling run along them, rusted and worn. Like just about everything else in this weird ship. ]
no subject
[ It's a grudging compliment, from the guy who basically hauled Inui up a rib. Plus, loath as he is to admit it, it isn't as though Lance is so much more special; without Blue here, he's little more than a talented cadet with decent aim. ]
If there's anywhere we'll find mapping data, it's in the cockpit, or whatever passes for one. Or maybe there's some kind of communications hub...either way, they won't be far from each other.
[ If they exist. ]
no subject
So we're looking for the driver's seat?
[Narrowing it down to the basic concepts.]
Which end do you think is the front?
[Right??? Even in spaceships it still makes sense to put the cockpit at the front of the ship???]
no subject
[That last bit is an attempted joke, but real humor comes from being observational, right?]
And we're all surviving together here. You better start discovering those hidden talents for the mission.
