[ That's a lot of words and questions, and The Last is already starting to grow tired of them. It's no fault of Cayde's mind you, it knows that other species have a natural inclination to be curious. They want to understand their surroundings and make sense of situations that...don't.

The Last's aren't though, and even doing this much talking is a draining social effort. There's too much to be done if The First have really woken and started moving.

The holographic screen flickers out of existence as The Last takes another slow, wheezed breath - only it's second ever since meeting Cayde, actually - and turns to move back to the doorway. ]

Find Atlas...find home. [ That should be sufficient. The Last turns once it reaches the doorway, its massive frame practically filling the hall from the other side. ]

Stay. Overseers will not see.

The First are coming.

[ And with no more than a tap to the panel on the outside of the room? The door slams shut, locking Cayde inside.

But don't worry, he'll be easy to find when the rescue party heads on down: it's left a giant glowing Atlas symbol on the door, and footprints in the sandy hall leading to Cayde's location.

[The first surprise Jess gets is that she doesn't hit the floor - like Cayde, she struggles a bit with righting herself, but eventually manages to get on her feet and start moving. The second surprise is that Cayde isn't crumpled on the floor somewhere, though she supposes the first surprise explains that, but it means the footprints are helpful.

The third surprise is the glowing Atlas symbol, which gets her to stop.]

Cayde?

[This whole place is giving her the creeps.]
sobriquette: (I sat alone)

no he has to get his own

[Thank god.

As soon as Jess hears the response, she jogs over to the doors.]

I'm gonna get you outta there.

[She wants to ask what the hell happened to him, but that will have to wait, for now, she's bracing her hands on the doors and pulling them apart with as much strength as she can muster. She manages to make a gap, but Cayde might want to lend a hand.]
sobriquette: (bout you on the train like me?)

look starbucks is expensive and she's not made of money

[She releases the doors once Cayde is through, stepping back to get a better look at him to make sure he isn't hurt. With the way she slowed before hitting the bottom, she hadn't expected him to be hurt but... still, she worries. Cayde is good at getting himself into trouble.]

Yeah, here.

[It's nice having a backpack, even if the way she got it was a little weird, but right now it means she can dig out a small pearl for Cayde to use.

And now that she knows he isn't in immediate danger:]

The hell happened to you?

and who's fault is that

[Cayde is right about which direction to go, and Jess starts to follow, stops in her tracks when he mentions aliens and gun turrets, before shaking herself and jogging to catch up.]

There's an alien down here?

[She's assuming he means "not one of our aliens" because otherwise it wouldn't be worth mentioning.]

i mean. fair.

[If there's someone here who knows more than they do, Jess would very much like to go find them, but she has a feeling that if it were possible, Cayde would have already suggested it.]

Are you good to climb? Clarke and Lance dropped a cable down to help us back up.

[He doesn't seem hurt, but she wants to check anyway.]
