Open to all!

Who: Inui ([personal profile] dateme) & ALL OF YOU
When: Day 3, eclipse/evening
Where: Boneyard
What: IT'S TIME FOR A POW-WOW aka we built a fire

[ So it's been a rough couple of days (literally, just two). But between nearly being blown up, marching through the desert, and generally just never wanting to see desert again, there is one good thing Inui (and Lance) have discovered: those Coral plants? Can be cracked open and eaten!

So as the sun vanishes behind the rocky formations or the moon(s), fellow interlopers might notice a distinct & nutty aroma wafting through the boneyard. Tracing it to it's source isn't hard though: Inui and Lance have started up a rather sizeable camp fire from the remains of some of the bones near the vague center of the massive grave. There they've cracked open large stalks from the coral and are roasting the mealy insides over the flames.

They've stockpiled quite a bit and have yet to cook all of it, so anyone and everyone is free to stop by and either help or take up a stalk of their own! Heck, maybe there's already people gathered there!

Whatever the case, it's a good way to kill some time, right? Maybe you've got a ghost story or a survival plan you want to share with the group? No really does anyone have a plan we could really use a plan ]

[ ooc; THIS POST IS OPEN TO EVERYONE AND EVERYONE! Feel free to make your own starters/sections, threadjack like crazy, and just generally get to mingling. The cooked Coral stalks taste like almonds and shouldn't be poisonous!.

HAVE FUN ]

Yeah, not dying.

[She's used to working in very small circles of people who usually just take her word for things.]
exorion: (why this)

Good to know.

[Fingergun.]

I figured there was some kinda life support in here, what with all the humans and how this don't look like a real hospitable planet. [He looks at his wrist display — almost back at full power thank god — and frowns.] No helmets on these things though-- wish I knew how they worked.

[Did the robot just do fingerguns at her...]

There's no oxygen tank either, but it's keeping us breathing somehow.

[Which is her way of saying that she has no fucking clue, either.]
exorion: (ugh shut UP)

Must be some kind of filtration system, or...

[He looks up at Jess suddenly, like he's had A Realisation.] This is probably kinda invasive, but-- Have you needed the bathroom at all since we got here?
sobriquette: (I'm well acquainted)

[personal profile] sobriquette 2016-10-21 02:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Any other situation, and that isn't the sort of question that she'd dignify with an answer but it's kind of important.]

Nope.

[The look on her face probably makes it clear she'd already noticed that fact and realizes it's weird.]

It's doing something to us.
exorion: (i got you a gift)

So, way back when-- [He starts with no regard for timelines.] Astronauts figured they could filter out waste for energy and water and all that real useful stuff you're gonna need on a long mission. Same kinda tech came in handy when it came to starting colonies on other planets too. Dunno how it all works, but makes sense that maybe these suits have a similar kinda tech, right?

[Cayde pauses, and sighs.]

My body doesn't make any waste, but I'm also used to being stronger than I am here. I'd guess maybe the suit's siphoning off someone of that to keep all that going.
sobriquette: (saying that you shouldn't waste)

[personal profile] sobriquette 2016-10-21 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[Between the fact he's a robot and the fact he's mentioning colonies, Jess has lumped Cayde in with all the other alien/space weirdos. It means he's operating with knowledge that she couldn't even dream of, in her shitty little apartment back on Earth.

But that doesn't mean she can't try to understand.]

I'm sure as hell not a biologist, but wouldn't it need to be inside us for that sorta shit to work?
exorion: (eyyyy)

[personal profile] exorion 2016-10-21 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I dunno. [He shakes his head] I'm not a scientist. Maybe it works through the skin?

[Is anyone here an egghead please say yes]
sobriquette: (you are not a human being)

[Jessica just shrugs, since his guess is as good as hers on this subject.]

Might explain why using up the charge works up an appetite.

[If the suit draws energy from their actual bodies.]

Could be. [Who knows? Not this guy.] I mean, makes sense right?
sobriquette: (I'm headed straight for the castle)

[personal profile] sobriquette 2016-10-26 10:51 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, about as much sense as being dumped on a goddamn alien planet.

[By which she means: not a lot.]
