What: IT'S TIME FOR A POW-WOW aka we built a fire

[ So it's been a rough couple of days (literally, just two). But between nearly being blown up, marching through the desert, and generally just never wanting to see desert again, there is one good thing Inui (and Lance) have discovered: those Coral plants? Can be cracked open and eaten!

So as the sun vanishes behind the rocky formations or the moon(s), fellow interlopers might notice a distinct & nutty aroma wafting through the boneyard. Tracing it to it's source isn't hard though: Inui and Lance have started up a rather sizeable camp fire from the remains of some of the bones near the vague center of the massive grave. There they've cracked open large stalks from the coral and are roasting the mealy insides over the flames.

They've stockpiled quite a bit and have yet to cook all of it, so anyone and everyone is free to stop by and either help or take up a stalk of their own! Heck, maybe there's already people gathered there!

Whatever the case, it's a good way to kill some time, right? Maybe you've got a ghost story or a survival plan you want to share with the group? No really does anyone have a plan we could really use a plan ]

[Her tone is a little amused though. She doesn't think they're actually meant to be looking for the ark of the covenant.]

[ He acknowledges the joke with a raising of his eyebrows before he continues. ]

There used to be ships ferrying people across the galaxy. Looking for suitable colonies. Krypton did it long ago.

[Dumb jokes aside, she does actually listen to Clark.]

If they want us to find shit for them, they could've left a little more information.

[ Clark nods. ]

They could have. Though it's also possible that they didn't get the chance to. I don't think these suits - or our pods can receive signals.

Did they run out of paper?

[It's sarcastic but also like - they could have left a damn note.]

[anewhope]

[ Clark does not seem bothered by the sarcasm. ]

Not every place has trees. They might have been something else - some piece of technology we haven't figured out yet that has a complete message.

You mean like those pods that exploded?

[Since so far that's where the majority of the technology seemed to be.]

[anewhope]

[ He nods. ]

There might have been something there that we missed.

[ Like his key that Clark once used a few years ago. ]

Bit late for that, then.

[Anything that was left is definitely gone.]

[anewhope]

Who knows? We might get another chance.

[ Whatever game is being played . . . it's clear it has only begun. ]

I won't hold my breath.

[Optimism is not her strong point.]

We'll see. This kind of work . . . it takes a lot of involvement and work. And someone will want to collect.

The sooner they show up to collect the better. I'm ready to kick some ass.

I think we all are.

[ Though Clark would never word it that way. ] Unfortunately, we're all rather limited.

I don't need any help kicking someone's ass.

[She absolutely does. Jess has no fighting skills beyond being stronger than most people. She probably can't even throw a punch without embarrassing every person who's ever boxed.]

Hopefully, there won't be that many people to kick.

[ Clark assumes that people would know better than to stir up trouble during a dire situation. ]

But personally, I'm surprised we haven't seen many forms of sentient life. Isn't that the first thing science fiction movies warn us about? What's really out there?

Do I look like I watch sci-fi?

[Nevermind that literally everyone is dressed the same so there's no way to tell that sort of thing.]

Or we could just be somewhere like Mars.

[Maybe there was sentient life at some point but the planet has become inhospitable.]

[anewhope]

[ What does that even mean Jess. ]

Mars, for all its indicators, is still a dead planet. Nothing about this place feels dead. Just . . . quiet.

[ That's what worries him. Silence is not something Clark is used to with his enhanced senses. ]

So we move around too much and get eaten by sandworms?

[There goes that comment about not being the sort of person to watch sci-fi.

[anewhope]

[ His eyebrows go up in surprise at that reference. ]

My suggestion would be not to move around too much by ourselves. But that's only a suggestion.
