[open!]
Who: Ves (
falsesmile) and general!
When: Day 6, afternoon
Where: The Ruined Hull
What: General exploration post!
[ The Ruined Hull has been unlocked! The go-team has been in the area for a while, the stay-team members who are so inclined have probably meandered over here somehow by now -- time to go exploring, but keep an eye on those suit power levels ♥ ]

Rising up on her tiptoes, she tries peering over his shoulder, but she's too short to see over him that way. So with a soft huff, she wedges herself between him and the panel he's examining, nose wrinkling up as she can't make any sense out of things.]
Should I be seeing something useful?
Re: cockpit
No. But if you can copy the script, I can give you the meaning behind it. But I can't separate the alien script from the newly translated version the suit is offering me. Maybe even write it down somewhere.
[ He could probably etch it on a metal piece, using his heat vision. It's not his traditional use for it, but it's a far nicer one. ]

So you're saying your suit's able to tap into how your mind handles language?
[That's exactly like the translation circuit she's used to thanks to the Doctor, and it makes her wonder if they're actually speaking English at all right now. It's not really an issue for her since she's used to it on her travels anyway, so she focuses on the factor that their suits are likely going to be responsible for altering and killing them all. It's a healthy paranoid thought at this point, she thinks.]
If we can find something for me to write on, I can copy down what I see.

[ Zod's ship had that ability. It stands to reason most alien software do as well. Clark scans the room before frowning. ]
I don't see anything we can use to write on here. I could pull out some metal but that'd be useless to you.

Make your eyes red again. I can just guide the movements of your head, I'm sure it'll work the same as you doing it yourself.
[She somehow manages to say this with a straight face, but knows it's not exactly a great solution. Once they get outside, she can trace the script in the dirt and sand. It will be easier that way.]

I'm ready.

She stills at first, if only because it feels ridiculous to actually be attempting. She can envision this going horribly wrong, but at the same time, she doubts he'd let either of them get hurt. So she rises up on her tiptoes, reaching her hands up...
Only to realize that at five foot one she's too short for this. So she grabs hold of his hand and gently backs them both up toward one of the cockpit seats, and moves to stand on it. It's perfect, and she signals for him to wait a bit longer as she hops out of the chair and hurries to grab the piece of paneling to place before him. Once she's standing back in the seat, she gently takes hold of the back of his head and gulps as she starts to guide the motions in a way that will crudely etch the script on the screen onto the panel.
Clearly this is a wonderful idea that in no way can go wrong.]

There. That looks...close enough to call it a job well done. What do you see when you look at it?
no subject
It says Enter.
no subject
Is it an invitation, do you think?
[Without a full translation of things, it makes speculation difficult.]

[ This is the cockpit after all. Clark idly wonders if their last coordinates were saved somewhere - or if there was a beacon on this ship that called out to the others. ]

[It feels like even with the advantage he offers them, they keep muddling through things in circles.]
It's times like this that I actually miss the Doctor's sonic screwdriver. It'd be able to figure things out without any work at all.

[ His eyebrows knit together in confusion. ]
How would a sonic screwdriver manage that?
no subject
[She shrugs, looking just as confused as she does now that she's actually trying to explain the sonic to someone.
Moving to sit down in the chair, she glances down to see that her feet aren't even touching the floor. Her legs kick a little as she looks around, trying to find anything useful that they can grab or use.]
Do you want to keep trying things here, or should we move on?
no subject
[ A little dry. ] I don't want to accidentally blow us up or send us hurtling through space.
no subject
[Always need to look on the positive side of things, after all.
Moving to slip out of the chair, she makes her way over toward the door.]
I want to explore deeper inside the ship. Do you think you'll be able to make it?
no subject
I should be fine. Let's go.
