[ The Ruined Hull has been unlocked! The go-team has been in the area for a while, the stay-team members who are so inclined have probably meandered over here somehow by now -- time to go exploring, but keep an eye on those suit power levels ♥ ]

[She pads over to Lance and puts a hand on his shoulder.]

I'm sure she doesn't. But if it's worrying you, you can always send her a transmission at least, right?

[ceruleo]

[ His face drops into his hands, but it's not from sadness. ]

If I could do that, don't you think I would have?

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka sits down next to him, then.]

... I'm sorry. You must miss them a lot.

[ceruleo]

[ His breath is a long rattle when he exhales. ]

Yeah. [ He bites his lip. Keep it together, he tells himself, but it doesn't stop his hands from shaking or his eyes from watering. ] Yeah...

[ The dam is about to break, and Lance forces his head up, sniffing loudly, then stands, just as Ahsoka is crouching next to him. He doesn't want her to see him cry. ]

O-okay. No sense moping around, right? [ He turns around to look at her, eyes still red but trying, visibly, to be upbeat. ] We still got the rest of this place to catch up on.

[resnipstance]

[ She offers him a genuine smile then, so different to her usual cocky grin. ]

... Okay.

[ Ahsoka understands well what it feels like to not want to cry in front of others, so she leaves it at that and stands. ]

If you want, though... if we ever figure out how to get back home from here, I'd be happy to take a message to your family for you.

[ceruleo]

[ His face heats up, a mixture of embarrassment and a kind of warmth he can't name, and so he glances away. ]

Thanks. Really. [ And then glances back. ] It means a lot.

[resnipstance]

[ She shrugs it off, a little embarrassed herself. ]

Yeah, well-- you know. It's not like I was doing much else anyway.

[ceruleo]

[ What's this? A moment of genuine connection??

TIME TO RUIN IT. ]

[ Because the gods above have decided Lance should be kept PG-13, he trips over a thick cable running across the floor, which makes him tumble right on his ass and into yet another terminal. He slams his head pretty hard, which serves him right, and incidentally dislodges a panel, revealing an inner compartment. ]

Ow...

[resnipstance]

[ Ahsoka just shakes her head. ]

You deserved that. [ Then she relents. ] Are you all right?

[ceruleo]

My head...hey!

[ If nothing else, at least he bounces back fast. He sits up, peering at the broken panel. ]

I think I found something.

[resnipstance]

[She pads over, curious.]

What is it?

[ceruleo]

[ He turns, on his hands and knees to reach inside the compartment-- ]

Oh, gross! [ And retracts his (thankfully gloved) hand with kharid innards all over. ] There's a busted egg in here...and I think some other stuff.

[resnipstance]

Eugh! [Ahsoka recoils too.] What's an egg doing inside the ship?

Wait-- when you say other stuff. Do you mean other eggs?

[ceruleo]

No, I mean like... [ Shuffling back inside with a wince--trying not to look too hard--he pulls out some battery-lookalikes. ] Like that, whatever those are. Batteries?

[resnipstance]

Let me see.

[She takes one from him.]

Huh. This looks like plasma-based technology. That's something, at least. I can work with this.

[ceruleo]

Hngh--man, this is nasty--there's more, just...wait a tick....!

[ If he reaches in deeper, past the rotten egg debris, Lance curls his hand around a cylindrical object. Like a really big pen?

Pulling it out, he marvels at it. ]

What's this?

[ It should be a lot more recognizable to her. ]

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka's eyes light up with excitement and she puts the battery aside, forgetting it completely.]

Whoa! That's a data cylinder! Lance, this is great! Quick, help me find where it plugs in.

[ceruleo]

[ A bit taken aback at having, you know, actually done something right, Lance can only nod mutely and shove the batteries into his suit's recently-acquired pockets before he gets up to follow after her. ]

A data cylinder? So, we're looking for some kinda hole, or...?

[ What is he looking for. ]

[resnipstance]

Right. I mean, at least where I'm from, anyway. It should look like a hole the inverse of what you've got there. Those things store information. Maybe we can learn more about this system, or this planet. A local map would be great...

[ceruleo]

Don't you guys have, I don't know, microchips or something? [ This seems inefficient, somehow. ] Whatever. I think all of these terminals might be dead, though. Let's try 'em.

[resnipstance]

I wonder if we can use the plasma battery to jumpstart one? They might be too badly damaged, but...

[ceruleo]

[ He frowns. ] I don't see anything on these that could fit one of the packs...hey, wait. [ He turns to her. ] You got one of those pearls from the giant bug? The energy ones? We could try that.

[resnipstance]

Uh...

[She pulls one out of the backpack, looking skeptical.]

This thing? I don't think... I mean... maybe? I guess it couldn't hurt to try.

[ceruleo]

We have nothing to lose. Just don't forget to shield your eyes.

[resnipstance]

... All right. Here goes.

[Ahsoka kneels down, until she finds a panel she can lift away. When she seems to find what she's looking for in the ship's innards, she gives a little shrug and holds the pearl out to a loose wire.]

I really hope this doesn't electrocute me...

[Ahsoka, that's not safe. Predictably, there's a flash, and then-- BOOM.]
