Open to all!

Who: Inui ([personal profile] dateme) & ALL OF YOU
When: Day 3, eclipse/evening
Where: Boneyard
What: IT'S TIME FOR A POW-WOW aka we built a fire

[ So it's been a rough couple of days (literally, just two). But between nearly being blown up, marching through the desert, and generally just never wanting to see desert again, there is one good thing Inui (and Lance) have discovered: those Coral plants? Can be cracked open and eaten!

So as the sun vanishes behind the rocky formations or the moon(s), fellow interlopers might notice a distinct & nutty aroma wafting through the boneyard. Tracing it to it's source isn't hard though: Inui and Lance have started up a rather sizeable camp fire from the remains of some of the bones near the vague center of the massive grave. There they've cracked open large stalks from the coral and are roasting the mealy insides over the flames.

They've stockpiled quite a bit and have yet to cook all of it, so anyone and everyone is free to stop by and either help or take up a stalk of their own! Heck, maybe there's already people gathered there!

Whatever the case, it's a good way to kill some time, right? Maybe you've got a ghost story or a survival plan you want to share with the group? No really does anyone have a plan we could really use a plan ]

[ ooc; THIS POST IS OPEN TO EVERYONE AND EVERYONE! Feel free to make your own starters/sections, threadjack like crazy, and just generally get to mingling. The cooked Coral stalks taste like almonds and shouldn't be poisonous!.

HAVE FUN ]

For now, [she says quickly, correcting him.] You aren't giving up on returning, are you?

[It's an outcome she refuses to consider, even if she died before this. It's less for her sake and more for Clarke's. She can't imagine a world where Clarke isn't able to return to her people. "Time" seems like an obstacle that Clarke Griffin of all people can defeat.]

It may be impossible to track that. They were destroyed for a reason.

[She thinks of Cayde, who ... actually, she doesn't know if he's an old guy. His entire appearance baffles her.]

Do you really think that's the case?

That's assuming they were all connected. They didn't go off in unison. Surely you noticed ...? [Then again, Lexa had been chilling away from the explosions. Her attention had been focused on staying away until it was safe to approach the wreckage again.]

Distance has its advantages. I hope you just happened to be there ... [Given his reluctance to "dig," she assumes this is the case. "Hope" is less of a "I'm hopeful" and more "if you're that stupid, we'll need to keep you from dying and that's a pain."]
adamance: (i have FIRE INSIDE)

[personal profile] adamance 2016-11-10 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
As you said, someone else did. [It's easy to make this statement, but it at least tells her that he isn't that stupid.]

Two someone elses, to be accurate. One man claimed he made weapons out of it.

He said his name was Cayde-6. [A pause, a roll of her shoulders back.] He didn't protect what he gained from his scrap very well. I'm led to believe that most of it is now lost.

[A pause, a moment of a girl looking like a deer in headlights, and then—]

Yes, that's him.

Interestingly enough ... I told him as much. But all groups do need leaders and followers. He seems comfortable enough with being among the latter. [It might not sound like she's discrediting him. The words themselves don't amount to "he's useless" in typical vernacular.

But that is what she means.]

Clearly, though I doubt you take offense to what is apparent.

[And at least he's gathered food. That's something.]
adamance: (i'll cook THREE dinners)

Under most circumstances, I would agree. [And yet—he's here. Yes, he had a starter pack, so to speak. But he's here.]

How have you lasted this long? [It isn't a matter of doubt: it's a matter of recognizing method. (And seeing if anyone covered his ass this long.)]

[With Lexa, everything is a long, slippery slope with no fun at the bottom. Which is apparent when she says:] Or perhaps you were kept alive for some other purpose. [She studies him for a moment. Oh, no, she's not foolish enough to believe he's important. He could never be. But perhaps he's meant to be utilized elsewhere.]

But purposes can be miracles depending on how you see it.
