Open to all!
Who: Inui (
dateme) & ALL OF YOU
When: Day 3, eclipse/evening
Where: Boneyard
What: IT'S TIME FOR A POW-WOW aka we built a fire
[ So it's been a rough couple of days (literally, just two). But between nearly being blown up, marching through the desert, and generally just never wanting to see desert again, there is one good thing Inui (and Lance) have discovered: those Coral plants? Can be cracked open and eaten!
So as the sun vanishes behind the rocky formationsor the moon(s), fellow interlopers might notice a distinct & nutty aroma wafting through the boneyard. Tracing it to it's source isn't hard though: Inui and Lance have started up a rather sizeable camp fire from the remains of some of the bones near the vague center of the massive grave. There they've cracked open large stalks from the coral and are roasting the mealy insides over the flames.
They've stockpiled quite a bit and have yet to cook all of it, so anyone and everyone is free to stop by and either help or take up a stalk of their own! Heck, maybe there's already people gathered there!
Whatever the case, it's a good way to kill some time, right? Maybe you've got a ghost story or a survival plan you want to share with the group? No really does anyone have a plan we could really use a plan ]
[ ooc; THIS POST IS OPEN TO EVERYONE AND EVERYONE! Feel free to make your own starters/sections, threadjack like crazy, and just generally get to mingling. The cooked Coral stalks taste like almonds and shouldn't be poisonous!.
HAVE FUN ]

I'm still trying to figure out how it started. I've never seen anything like it.
no subject
I should have done more. I could have, under normal circumstances. But nothing about this place is normal.
[ And nothing about Clark is normal either, but he had tamed those parts of himself, learned how to work with them. ]
no subject
[She reaches over to touch at his arm, giving a shake of her head.]
Everyone did all that they could, you included. You just said it yourself, this place isn't normal. All we can do is try to prepare ourselves for surviving here. Beating yourself up won't get you anywhere.
no subject
I know.
But it doesn't make this easier.
no subject
It shouldn't be easy. But no one died today, that I know of. We can celebrate that, at least.
no subject
I don't think anyone is in a celebratory mood.
[ There's a long pause before he answers quietly, more personal. ]
I used to make it easy. Or at least look easy.
no subject
You used to make what look easy? Rescuing others?
no subject
The suits might be draining powers. Or something else.
[ Clark might be familiar with some Kryptonian technology, like the pods. But that's where his expertise ends. ]
no subject
You need to make sure to conserve your energy, then. Have you tried eating anything? Maybe that will help regain some power that's been drained, and can give you a boost til we figure out if it is the suit or not.
no subject
I'll help myself later. How about you?
no subject
[Her nose wrinkles up and she makes a disgusted face, giving a quick shake of her head.]
Besides, I don't have powers like you do. I don't need to eat.
no subject
[ At least. He's fairly sure they would all need to eat. ]
no subject
I'll eat eventually. I'm just more concerned about you right now, that's all.
no subject
[ Until recently, but no one needs to know that. But Clark gets where she's coming from so he amends his statement. ]
I promise.
no subject
I'll get us something. No arguing.
no subject
Yes ma'am.
no subject
I don't think it's poisoned, so it should be safe.
no subject
I think it's worth the risk.
no subject
It tastes like finally reaching rock bottom.
no subject
Really? I don't think it's all too bad.
[ Granted, Clark had been dead not long ago. ]
no subject
If you don't think it's that bad, I'm subjecting you to being my soufflé taster once we reach civilization.
no subject
I have low standards for rock bottom. But I'd love to try your soufflé.
no subject
Has anyone ever told you that you're ridiculously charming?
no subject
[ Most people don't know him well enough to notice. ]
no subject
[It's easy to tease him a bit, even as she fishes for information.]
