Open to all!
Who: Inui (
dateme) & ALL OF YOU
When: Day 3, eclipse/evening
Where: Boneyard
What: IT'S TIME FOR A POW-WOW aka we built a fire
[ So it's been a rough couple of days (literally, just two). But between nearly being blown up, marching through the desert, and generally just never wanting to see desert again, there is one good thing Inui (and Lance) have discovered: those Coral plants? Can be cracked open and eaten!
So as the sun vanishes behind the rocky formationsor the moon(s), fellow interlopers might notice a distinct & nutty aroma wafting through the boneyard. Tracing it to it's source isn't hard though: Inui and Lance have started up a rather sizeable camp fire from the remains of some of the bones near the vague center of the massive grave. There they've cracked open large stalks from the coral and are roasting the mealy insides over the flames.
They've stockpiled quite a bit and have yet to cook all of it, so anyone and everyone is free to stop by and either help or take up a stalk of their own! Heck, maybe there's already people gathered there!
Whatever the case, it's a good way to kill some time, right? Maybe you've got a ghost story or a survival plan you want to share with the group? No really does anyone have a plan we could really use a plan ]
[ ooc; THIS POST IS OPEN TO EVERYONE AND EVERYONE! Feel free to make your own starters/sections, threadjack like crazy, and just generally get to mingling. The cooked Coral stalks taste like almonds and shouldn't be poisonous!.
HAVE FUN ]

But it's not...
[ A long moment. ]
...oh! Right, yeah. Burnables. For the fire.
[ Immediately, he rises, falling into step next to her with a blink. ]

[ She walks for at least a minute in silence, until she's certain no one's following them. Then she bends down to pick up a small piece of bone, just to keep up the pretence. Finally, when she straightens: ]
... Listen. About what you saw yesterday... can I ask you to keep quiet about that?

The only thing keeping him from reading this completely wrong is the thought of Nyma still rattling around in his brain. ]
You know, if you wanted to get me alone— [ She, thankfully, cuts him off before he can finish that thought, and his jaw is frozen for a moment before he frowns, confused. ] Uh, wait. Why? [ More emphatically: ] Ahsoka, you saved my life.
[ Or at least, she tried to, and in his mind that's more than enough. ]

Second-- [ she pauses for a moment, thinking about how to choose her wording ] there... aren't a lot of people who can do what I do. You could say we're... somewhat of an endangered species? I don't know how many of us are left, but... I don't think it's more than a handful. Where in from, there's a shoot on sight standing order for anybody like me.

I know-- I know they're not here. I'm not stupid. But I don't know what sector or galaxy we are in. For all I know, the Empire might never come here. Or they could be here tomorrow. They won't stop until they see every last Force-sensitive dead. [ That much had been made abundantly clear to her. ] That's why I gave a false name at the fireplace. The less people who know anything, the less chance there is of them getting in trouble.

I get it. Your secret's safe with me, Ashla.
[ The corner of his mouth curves up despite himself. It feels nice, being trusted. ]

[ She bends down to pick up another piece of wayward bone. ]
Now you really do have to help me collect stuff, or it's going to look suspicious.

We could always tell 'em we were making out instead.
[ /ruins it ]

Ugh. Never mind. I'll pick them up myself.

[ No it wasn't. Still, Lance bends obediently, picking up more bones and scarce, dead plant matter. He can't help but think on what she'd told him, about the Empire, and the Force. There's a moment of silence between them before he starts again, more hesitant. ]
When you were unconscious, during the landslide...you talked in your sleep. [ He lowers his voice as he rises back up, at least somewhat aware of their voices carrying with nothing in this desert to block them. ] You called out for your Master. Were you like, in school or something?

[She blinks a moment, slow and unsure. Like she's processing that, and considering how to answer. Ever cautious.]
No... I mean, I suppose-- in a way? But not in the traditional sense. I was an apprentice. But I haven't been in classes or anything since I was fourteen, if that's what you mean.

Fourteen years.

You're...twenty-eight years old?!

[ Math: not Lance's strong suit. ]

Sorry. Small misunderstanding. I was sent to the Temple when I was three. Most Jedi begin around that age. We had classes every day, but it was still considered training.

Look, being a Jedi means something specific. It's not like-- being able to do mathematics. It's more like... being a mathematician. There are lots of people who can do maths who go on to other professions.
