Open to all!

Who: Inui ([personal profile] dateme) & ALL OF YOU
When: Day 3, eclipse/evening
Where: Boneyard
What: IT'S TIME FOR A POW-WOW aka we built a fire

[ So it's been a rough couple of days (literally, just two). But between nearly being blown up, marching through the desert, and generally just never wanting to see desert again, there is one good thing Inui (and Lance) have discovered: those Coral plants? Can be cracked open and eaten!

So as the sun vanishes behind the rocky formations or the moon(s), fellow interlopers might notice a distinct & nutty aroma wafting through the boneyard. Tracing it to it's source isn't hard though: Inui and Lance have started up a rather sizeable camp fire from the remains of some of the bones near the vague center of the massive grave. There they've cracked open large stalks from the coral and are roasting the mealy insides over the flames.

They've stockpiled quite a bit and have yet to cook all of it, so anyone and everyone is free to stop by and either help or take up a stalk of their own! Heck, maybe there's already people gathered there!

Whatever the case, it's a good way to kill some time, right? Maybe you've got a ghost story or a survival plan you want to share with the group? No really does anyone have a plan we could really use a plan ]

[ ooc; THIS POST IS OPEN TO EVERYONE AND EVERYONE! Feel free to make your own starters/sections, threadjack like crazy, and just generally get to mingling. The cooked Coral stalks taste like almonds and shouldn't be poisonous!.

HAVE FUN ]

Why are you so reluctant to do exactly the thing you've suggested? You should be more careful with your solutions.

[Of course, she's still being a pain here.]
adamance: (i have good complexion still)

Then what good are you for? [Lexa takes a beat to motion toward the cooking plant.] And don't say that. I've accomplished as much myself since I arrived. [She just had less to share, so ... no sharing has happened.]

Finding out what vegetation you can survive on is very simple. You're new to this, aren't you?

[It seems probable given his disposition. If he knew hardship, he wouldn't be ... like himself.]

... I'm afraid you'll have to tell me more. [Tokyo exists on maps in books, but given its distance from post-apocalyptic Virginia, she hasn't really had cause to pay it much attention.]

Not all of us come from the same place. I've recently learned of someone who comes from a different galaxy.

[She assumes that Tokyo (despite being vaguely familiar sounding) is one of those places.]

And not all aliens look like Ashla, [she points out calmly.] There was a woman who spoke of another galaxy, and of travel. My people could never manage that in our current state, but a past civilization did. To some degree.

[No one would call the Space Stations that eventually formed the Ark (and now Arkadia) extensive space travel.]

I am from Earth. [That raises a lot of questions that Lexa doesn't have the knowledge to piece together, but she still can't help but wonder what she's missing.]

There was a time when we had space stations in the sky. It saved some of humanity. [She says this as if she's detailing someone else's story. That's in part because she is.]

The world was bombed. All of it burned, except for those people. Those who remained were eventually saved by the first Commander, or hidden away and not allowed to ... progress to handle the world outside. [This is basic history. What if her people hadn't been viewed as animals by the Mountain Men? As savages? Lexa knows that they were toyed with, and yet she still gave in.

Then again, she feels like she's being toyed with now, but at least she isn't being given any ultimatums. (Yet.)]

[Lexa pauses to process that. She knows of World War II—but only distantly, a blip along a timeline, so long ago that she's barely had to process all of the ramifications. She knows about it thanks to a history book, but even the first Commander hadn't been born until two decades into the twenty-first century.]

There may be a reason for this, but I can't tell you what it is.

[If only they had someone familiar with the multiverse to help ...]

Unless what we know has been tampered with. [That's definitely possible. She considers it for a long moment.]

But there would be holes. No one could be that thorough, could they?

It's not a concept I'm personally familiar with. [However—] Still, can you remember how you were taken from this "Tokyo" and placed in that suit and pod?
adamance: (stop making good points)

For now, [she says quickly, correcting him.] You aren't giving up on returning, are you?
