What: IT'S TIME FOR A POW-WOW aka we built a fire

[ So it's been a rough couple of days (literally, just two). But between nearly being blown up, marching through the desert, and generally just never wanting to see desert again, there is one good thing Inui (and Lance) have discovered: those Coral plants? Can be cracked open and eaten!

So as the sun vanishes behind the rocky formations or the moon(s), fellow interlopers might notice a distinct & nutty aroma wafting through the boneyard. Tracing it to it's source isn't hard though: Inui and Lance have started up a rather sizeable camp fire from the remains of some of the bones near the vague center of the massive grave. There they've cracked open large stalks from the coral and are roasting the mealy insides over the flames.

They've stockpiled quite a bit and have yet to cook all of it, so anyone and everyone is free to stop by and either help or take up a stalk of their own! Heck, maybe there's already people gathered there!

Whatever the case, it's a good way to kill some time, right? Maybe you've got a ghost story or a survival plan you want to share with the group? No really does anyone have a plan we could really use a plan ]

[ He pauses in eating his steaming-hot coral plant, smacking his lips as he considers the words. He can't help it; he's curious. ]

Obligate carnivores? Do you have like, fangs?

I can eat things that don't have protein in them, but I won't get any nutrition from it.

[So, like a dog. Inui was right about one thing.]

Our teeth are a bit sharper than a human's. But I wouldn't call them fangs. That's a myth.

[ He nods. Since this is Togruta Question Hour, apparently: ] And your face...are those tattoos, or markings? Like, were you born with those?

[resnipstance]

Markings. They're different for each of us. It's an evolutionary throwback-- the tall grass on Shili is patterned. So markings helped our ancestors to blend in.

[ceruleo]

Like fingerprints! [ His mouth slackens a bit. ] That's so cool! What's it like on Shili?

[resnipstance]

Oh. Uh. I don't remember it very well?

Hot, mostly? And colourful...

[ceruleo]

You...left when you were little? [ Said hesitantly, hopefully. He sincerely hopes it's not another Altea situation. ]

[resnipstance]

That's right. When I was three. After that, I ... spent most of my time on Coruscant.

[ A complex and private emotion seems to pass over Ahsoka's face for a moment as she says that-- perhaps sadness, perhaps nostalgia. It's difficult to interpret. But then it passes as soon as it appears. ]

[ On the one hand, he's relieved that Shili is apparently still in one piece. On the other, he's at least people-savvy enough to spot the shadow that flits over her face, and cants his head in response. ]

Coruscant? That some kind of...metropolis? [ Can a planet be a metropolis? How does this work. ]

[resnipstance]

That's right. The center of the galaxy. You've really never heard of it... [said with no small amount of wonder.]

[ceruleo]

[ He squints, wondering as well. ] Am I meant to...? Is it like, well-known or something? I'm from Earth.

[resnipstance]

... Seriously? Another one?

Why are there so many humans here from some weird back-water planet with no space travel...!

[ceruleo]

Hey! Earth isn't some backwater, take that back. Plus we totally do have space travel, a friend of mine went on a research mission all the way out to the farthest moon in our solar system—and that was before we knew about aliens.

[resnipstance]

You haven't even gotten out of your system?

[ceruleo]

It still counts!

[resnipstance]

Your tech must be ancient...

[ceruleo]

It works just fine, thank you. [ It's not Altean, but they're making great strides. ] Besides, knowing what I know now about what's out there? The farther away humans are from space travel and the Galra, the happier I'll be.

[resnipstance]

That's fair enough.

[She's heard enough about the Galra to know she doesn't like the sound of them one bit.]

So... you're part of some organisation that's fighting against them? Like... rebels?

[ceruleo]

[ He grins, puffing up like a proud peacock. ]

Yeah! I pilot the Blue Lion--one of the five pieces of Voltron. We usually fly them independently, but they combine to form this giant robot machine. [ To illustrate his point, he uses a dried-up stalk of coral to draw in the sand: five cats, all pointing towards one massive humanoid stick figure. ] Obviously Zarkon wants nothing more than to get his grubby paws on them. Meanwhile, we're liberating planets from enslavement; we saved Arus, and the Balmera, and we're just getting started.

Since when did we do that?? [ Just busting in here for a moment since this is relevant to his...planet. ness. Whatever. He's nosy okay ]

[ A blink. ]

What? The Kerberos mission was last year, dude. "Mission failure due to pilot error", didn't you see the news?

Nnn...o? There hasn't been a Kerberos mission or anything like that that I heard of. [ whatchu talkin bout lance ]

[ceruleo]

[ Lance's face scrunches a bit in obvious frustration. Seriously, guy? ]

Pilot Takashi Shirogane, Commander Samuel Holt and researcher Matt Holt were all presumed dead on Kerberos. How did you not hear about this? That doesn't make sense.

Because it hasn't been on the news? I mean the last guy we sent up into space was Kimiya Yui, and he finishes his run on the ISS in like a few weeks or something.

[ Technically it'll be on December 11th, 2015. ]

[ Lance's mind works backwards from what Inui's telling him, counting the plausible dates before-- ]

Holy crow, are you serious?! You're ancient!

[ He bursts out laughing. ]
