Well, the swarm is over and the queen has died. What are you doing now, friends?

Heading back to the boneyard to regroup? Staying at the queen's carcass to harvest meat and pearl things? Staying maybe to heal if you're banged up? Or maybe you're arguing with others over what to do.

[Ahsoka accepts the hug, but then she pushes herself back to survey Lance.]

--Lance, you're hurt. What happened?

Uh, long story short? Every freakin' bug on the planet tried to eat us! Like, you guys left, and then they started popping up everywhere, and then they were just...every—[ Too much talking. He needs to stop and catch his breath. ] Everywhere! We had to climb up the bones to keep them from following us.

What? ... Are you okay? Did anyone else get hurt?

Me? Psh, yeah, it's just a scratch. [ HE'S A MAN'S MAN, HE'S TOTALLY FINE, ETC. ] Inui's probably around somewhere, we all came over together--I think both of his legs are still swollen. Clara got some of her suit bit? And Clark's suit powered out 'cause he was using his like, laser eyes and... [ He has to trail off again, and uses the opportunity to rub the back of his neck. ] ...it kinda sucked!

Laser eyes?

... Never mind. I'm not even sure I want to know.

As long as everyone's alive, that's the important thing...

Yeah, like— [ She cuts him off, and all he can do is nod, mutely. ] Yeah.

[ This is normally the part where he'd puff up, talk about how awesome Clark was and how he and Inui totally saved Clark's life and how he totally saved Inui's life—but he doesn't have the energy. She looks scraped up, like her body met the ground too hard, her suit harshly abraded. ]

What about you guys?

[Ahsoka shakes her head.]

... Not good.

On the bright side, we have food now. [She doesn't sound very happy about it, though.]

[ His brows come together. ]

I heard about... [ He casts his eyes to the side, follows the trail of shadows all the way to the massive corpse there. His mouth falls open. ]

Whoa. Is that...her?

[ Is it a her? ]

That's right. ... We thought she was attacking us. But when I touched her, I realised she was just afraid.

Oh. [ His face falls. ] Afraid of what...?

... Of us. She was protecting the others.

Oh, man. And we blew it, huh?

[ He can't think of the number of bugs he'd frightened and crushed back there. Admittedly, he'd been terrified for his life, but still. ]

By the time I realised, we'd already done too much damage.

[ He glances over, peers at her profile a moment before reaching out a hand to her shoulder. ]

Hey. You're not blaming yourself, are you?

[ She rubs one arm awkwardly. ]

... A little. I should have realised earlier. But I got so wrapped up, I didn't think. I should have know better.

Look at her! [ He motions towards the Queen and her massive bulk. ] Who wouldn't be scared?!

[ He catches his assumption, then makes to correct himself. ]

I--I mean, not that you were scared, but she's gigantic! Of course you'd get caught up in that kind of situation!

... I wasn't scared for myself. But I was scared that someone else would get hurt.

Same diff. You did what you thought was right, and everyone's still around to talk about it.

[ A beat. ]

And isn't that the important thing?

... No. It's not.

Thousands of Jedi fought in the Clone Wars because they were doing what they thought was right. They even saved a lot of lives. But that doesn't mean it was right. It was wrong.

My intentions don't magically make everything better. I have to be more careful.

No, I mean--you helped everyone make it out safe! You're the one who said all of us staying in one piece was the most important thing.

[ He sighs. He's pretty terrible at this, isn't he? ]

... Hmm. Perhaps I should take the Lance approach instead?

You're right. I am pretty awesome.

[ She doesn't feel it. Not at all. But she recognises Lance is trying to cheer her up. So the least she can do is change the tone of the conversation. ]

[ Worst impression ever. ]

If you're gonna do it my way, you gotta at least sound a little more convinced.

[ He gestures to say 'go on, try again'. ]

What? I'm not doing it again! It was embarrassing enough the first time!

The point is to keep saying it until it stops being embarrassing!

[ Duh. ]

[The blue stripes on her lekku seem to darken somewhat.]

Yeah, well-- [she seems to flounder, unable to come up with a good argument]
