Open to all!
Who: Inui (
dateme) & ALL OF YOU
When: Day 3, eclipse/evening
Where: Boneyard
What: IT'S TIME FOR A POW-WOW aka we built a fire
[ So it's been a rough couple of days (literally, just two). But between nearly being blown up, marching through the desert, and generally just never wanting to see desert again, there is one good thing Inui (and Lance) have discovered: those Coral plants? Can be cracked open and eaten!
So as the sun vanishes behind the rocky formationsor the moon(s), fellow interlopers might notice a distinct & nutty aroma wafting through the boneyard. Tracing it to it's source isn't hard though: Inui and Lance have started up a rather sizeable camp fire from the remains of some of the bones near the vague center of the massive grave. There they've cracked open large stalks from the coral and are roasting the mealy insides over the flames.
They've stockpiled quite a bit and have yet to cook all of it, so anyone and everyone is free to stop by and either help or take up a stalk of their own! Heck, maybe there's already people gathered there!
Whatever the case, it's a good way to kill some time, right? Maybe you've got a ghost story or a survival plan you want to share with the group? No really does anyone have a plan we could really use a plan ]
[ ooc; THIS POST IS OPEN TO EVERYONE AND EVERYONE! Feel free to make your own starters/sections, threadjack like crazy, and just generally get to mingling. The cooked Coral stalks taste like almonds and shouldn't be poisonous!.

Obligate carnivores? Do you have like, fangs?
no subject
[So, like a dog. Inui was right about one thing.]
Our teeth are a bit sharper than a human's. But I wouldn't call them fangs. That's a myth.

[S Q U I N T] Haven't seen any wildlife, but we could take a look come sunrise.

I mean, where there are claw marks, there are beasts... right?

[He says like the idea of taking down some huge beast isn't really exciting.]

[She's looking a bit skeptical. Actually, the closer she leans in to examine the plants, the more suspicious they look.]
Has anyone tried it yet? [She's keeping an eye out for things like death or hallucinations. It's a very important job.]
no subject
Yup~ I made that guy [ he points to Lance a ways over ] try it first. We're good.
no subject
Think I'll be the judge of that.
[What if there's crazy desert hallucinations involved in eating this? She's still unconvinced.]
no subject
Make sure you blown on it first though.
no subject
On second thought, maybe I'll just keep watching to make sure no one breaks out in hives.
no subject
You sure~? Smells Good~
no subject
[Shepard, brave space marine and all, breaks off a tiny piece to put on the inside of her lip for a moment, testing to see if there's a delayed effect from exposure before helping herself.
But seriously. Those coral things were Not Fun.]
( closed. )
Come here often? [ He's visibly pleased with himself for his 'cleverness', and extends a coral pod towards her, cracked open with the insides lightly seared. The smell of toasted nuts is strong. ] You should have some, it totally tastes like almonds.
[ It doesn't occur to him that Allura might not even know what an almond is. ]
no subject
She's glad for opportunity to ignore her hair for the moment, her features brightening up at the sight of Lance, though her eyes narrow at that line. She doesn't dignify it with a response, just takes the coral pod from him, peeling away the husk to take a bite. ]
This tastes like the rosberry on Altea.
[ She says it like she's surprised, never expected to taste anything like it again. ] It must be similar to your almond.
no subject
[ He lets himself fall to sit next to her, watching the snarl in her hair with a brief frown when she releases it. The pain of long hair... ] Almonds are a nut, not a berry. Tasty, right? If you ever get to visit Earth, you should try some.
no subject
The rations, while adequate, aren't the best. ]
We'll be out of this place one day, and back to the fight against Zarkon, and then - maybe.
no subject
Would you...want to? Visit Earth, I mean.
